4-Day Tour Central Switzerland

Day 1: Arrival in Lucerne and ride to Vitznau (own or rented e-bikes).

Arrival in Lucerne and pick-up of tour documentation as well as two waterproof saddle bags per person for the luggage at the Swiss Historic Hotel Wilden Mann (suitcase stays back at the hotel). The Flyer e-bike is collected at Lucerne station. Then the tour starts in the direction of Vitznau. The ride through the Megger forest to Küssnacht offers a constant view of the lake, the Rigi and the Nidwalden Alps. Along the lake - also called the Riviera of Central Switzerland - the journey continues to Vitznau to the Swiss Historic Hotel Terrasse am See. At dinner, you can't help but be amazed. The evening atmosphere directly on the lake is simply unique.

Day 2: Drive from Vitznau to Amsteg

After breakfast, in the rondel built over the lake, we head along the cantonal road to Brunnen. The road runs partly high above the lake - the coniferous trees to the left and right of the road smell simply wonderful and the lake glistens in the depths. From Brunnen, the famous Axenstrasse leads to Flüelen, partly through tunnels, partly on the old road with breathtaking views of the Lake of Uri. From afar, the Bristen mountain is visible like a pyramid. There is Amsteg, the stage destination of the second day. Goethe already enjoyed the hospitality and the impressive mountains of Uri in the Swiss Historic Hotel Stern & Post.

Day 3: Drive from Amsteg to Flüeli-Ranft

After breakfast, the trail leads downhill back to Lake Lucerne into the nature reserve near the Reuss delta. All roads end in Bauen on the Lake of Uri. So you change to the boat with your e-bike and luggage. The boat takes us past the legendary Rütli meadow to Beckenried. The cycle path now leads along meadow paths to Stans and through the beautiful Kernserwald forest towards Flüeli-Ranft. After arriving at the Swiss Historic Hotel Paxmontana, it is worth taking a short walk to the place of power of Niklaus von der Flüe, the hermit cell of Brother Klaus in the Ranft Gorge right next to the hotel.

Day 4: Drive from Flüeli-Ranft to Lucerne

After breakfast in the beautiful Art Nouveau hotel, the trail leads into the valley to Lake Sarnen and on to the nature reserve at Lake Wichel. Via the landing strip of the military airfield, you reach Lake Lucerne again in Alpnachstad. The route back to Lucerne offers many possibilities along the way. For example, a ride on the world's steepest cogwheel railway up Mount Pilatus to view the area of the bike tour from above. In Hergiswil, the path leads directly past the fascinating glass factory. Around the Horwer peninsula you finally return to Lucerne railway station (return e-bike). After an evening walk along the Reuss and through the streets of Lucerne's old town, a restful night follows at the Swiss Historic Hotel Wilden Mann.
