Day 1 - Herzogenbuchsee
Arrive in Herzogenbuchsee and pick up your tour documentation and two waterproof saddle bags (suitcases stay behind at the hotel). After checking in at the Hotel Kreuz, take advantage of a first ride on the e-bike and explore Herzogenbuchsee with its rural agriculture, its striking village centre and its historic hotels overlooked by stately churches.
Day 2 - Drive Herzogenbuchsee to Emmental
After a rich breakfast buffet, you will set off in the direction of the Emmental. The route takes you past the wide farm fields of the Bernese Oberaargau, imposing farmhouses and the unique hilly landscape of the Emmental. The views spoil you with vistas from the Jura to the Alps. End your day in one of the three historic Emmental buildings from the late Baroque period at the Hotel Bären Dürrenroth.
Day 3 - Off to Solothurn
Along hilly farmland with small villages, you slowly leave the Emmental behind and follow the great Emme towards Solothurn, where Italian grandeur with French charm and Swiss-German down-to-earthness await you. In the heart of Solothurn's old town, you will be welcomed within the historic walls of Switzerland's second oldest hotel, Hotel La Couronne.
Day 4 - Drive back to Herzogenbuchsee
The last stage leads along the Wasseramt route. As the name suggests, you will ride mostly along the Aare and encounter the theme of water in various forms. Finally, you follow route 801 from Burgäschisee, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011 thanks to pile dwelling finds, back to Herzogenbuchsee.
