Standard package starting at a railway station for schools

The largest rental points such as Airolo, Biel, Murten, Oberwald, Romanshorn or Saignelégier have between 70 and 200 bicycles. Every region of Switzerland thus has attractive group packages to offer.

For kids >150 cm (9 years), we recommend the biketypes "Countrybike" and "Mountainbike". Limited disposability for Children bicycles from 130 cm (7 years).

Schools can take advantage of attractive terms and conditions

School groups accompanied by a teacher can travel for less from Monday to Friday - They will be given a 50% discount on the normal rate for 10 or more  people who pay. The schools discount does not apply to e-bikes and tandems. Discounts cannot be accumulated. Rail tickets, vouchers, promotions, etc. will not count.

Tips for schooltrips

A school cycling trip is something special for all concerned. The following list provides you with some information which you should take into consideration when planning a cycling tour (Source: bfu, UB9915):

  • Provide the school head, parents and accompanying adults with all information in good time
  • Cycle the route in advance yourself so that you are familiar with it
  • Integrate the preparations and choice of route into your lessons as teaching topics
  • If possible, avoid busy roads
  • Agree groups of pupils and their order before starting the tour; the fixed order avoids competition among the children for the front positions
  • “Weaker” pupils should ride at the front
  • Accompanying adults or reliable pupils should bring up the rear
  • In the interests of pupils’ safety do not organise races or choose quiet roads for them
  • Follow road safety rules
  • Clever heads protect themselves: All pupils should wear a cycle helmet
  • Choose areas off the road and with good visibility for breaks
  • Designate meeting points in case a group gets lost
  • Take a mobile phone with you (save important emergency numbers and accompanying adults’ mobile phone numbers in your contacts)
  • Take a first-aid kit and a bicycle repair kit with you

A Reservation ist 24/4 possible online or by phone or at your railway station.

Our GTC apply.

Reservations for groups and schools must be made at the desired railway station as early as possible! Each rental point has a limited number of bicycles (please take this into consideration when choosing a rental point) – additional bicycles can only be supplied using our mobile bike point service. Bicycles cannot, unfortunately, be moved around from one rental point to another. This service can be supplied by the mobile bike station.
